Yin is a term used by Kuei-jin to describe the passive, negative principle of death, as well as Chi derived from that principle.

Overview[]

Yin is one of the two forces which drive creation, along with Yang. The Yin principle represents all that is passive, cold, dark, feminine, downward-seeking, and corresponds to the night. Of special interest to the Kuei-jin is the association of Yin with death and the dead.

It is personified by the Ebon Dragon, and can be found in abundance in the Yin World.

Yin-aspected chi (Yin chi) can be harvested from dead and dying bodies, as well as from Dragon Nests attuned with death, darkness, and stasis, including the haunts and fetters of the dead.

From the perspective of the chi'n ta (mages), yin chi is essentially Quintessence with a strong Entropic and/or Static Resonance.
