It's the Kiss... er... Clan of Death![]
Coming to the shelves of the Library at Alexandria and your local game store this April is Clanbook: Cappadocian for Vampire: The Dark Ages.
The Cappadocian sourcebook is the first to investigate the secrets of the Clan of Death. Clanbook: Cappadocian, part of the popular Clanbook series, contains everything that makes this series so useful: the history of the clan, special powers and new Traits, and handy template characters suitable for use by players and Storytellers. In addition, this supplement features information on the mysterious Lamia, a rare bloodline of the Cappadocians, and the dark foundation of the Giovanni family, which later destroys its Cappadocian sires and steals their blood. Clanbook: Cappadocian also outlines the nascent Discipline of Necromancy and introduces the Road of the Bones, a special Via which espouses the study of death in all its forms.
Learn the true nature of the Cappadocians. They have foreseen their destruction and struggle tirelessly to reach their apotheosis before time runs out.
Check it out or risk diablerie at the hands of the Giovanni! Cover art by John Bolton. Illustrated by Vince Locke. Stock #2805, ISBN 1-56504-280-8, $12.00 U.S.
Libelli Sanguinis[]
We know. You don't want to buy a Clanbook for each the 13 clans in Vampire: The Dark Ages. We're on your side; we gave you this newspaper, didn't we?
Instead of doing individual Dark Ages books for the clans tat have already been covered for Vampire, we're releasing a series called the Libelli Sanguinis (Books of Blood). In each of these volumes, three clans are detailed in a style similar to the Clanbooks, with full attention on what the vampires are up to in the Dark Medieval world. It's all-new stuff from a Dark Ages point of view!
Best of all, each book is only $15! Thar's three regular Clanbooks at half the cost! Check out the first of the series this September with Libellus Sanguinis 1: Masters of the State, which covers the Lasombra, Tzimisce and Ventrue.

Outcasts even among the Damned, the vampires of Clan Ravnos have long been reviled and cursed by their Kindred brethren. If the Kindred knew the truth about these Gypsy charlatans, their curses would turn to cries of fear.
In the tradition of the phenomenally popular Clanbook series for Vampire: The Masquerade, Clanbook: Ravnos reveals the inner secrets of this fascinating clan.

There were 11 million of them by the end, 11 million human beings shot, stabbed, gassed, beaten and devoured by the Nazi extermination machine. Yet their memory lives on, and so do their ghosts. It has been half a century since the gates of the camps were closed, but for the wraiths of the Holocaust, the struggle conntinues.
Charnel Houses of Europe: The Shoah, for Wraith: The Oblivion, is a record of the Holocaust through the eyes of those who perished in it, Detailing what happened, and what continues to happen in the World of Darkness, this book concentrates on consequences.
This is not an easy book to read, and it is not or the easily offended. However, it just might be an important book.

What makes them so certain about their cause? And who can be truly sure of destiny? Not even the Euthanatos have all the answers.

The Going Rate for a Dad?[]
The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish is a hardback book written for children and the young at heart. One day my mom went out and left me at home with just my little sister and my dad. Mt dad sat in front of the television, reading his newspaper My dad doesn't pay much attention to anything when he's reading his newspaper.
My friend Nathan came over to my house. He had a glass bowl with him. There was something in the glass bowl.
"What's that?" I said.
"Two goldfish," he said. "Aren't they neat?"
They were pretty neat.
"I'll swap you them," I said.

How White Wolf Makes a Book[]
Or "I Get Paid For This?"[]
One of the questions most frequently asked of the WW staff is how we go about creating our books. For the most part, folks ask because they want to write or do art for us. Others are just curious, perhaps about how lazy bastards and bastets like us can go from scribbling on character sheets or scribbling short stories to doing the same for an international audience, and getting paid for it.
In truth, we're mostly glorified gamers and hacks who got lucky. Now we just make an everyday thing of that luck.
Game supplements and fiction novels are created in largely the same way. White Wolf either has an idea for a book and we approach potential authors with the idea, or we receive a good idea from an author who's also looking to get lucky (at least in publishing). If all parties agree on the project, an outline is drafted up by the developer, managing editor or author in question, and the writer gets to work.
A manuscript usually goes through two or three incarnations before it sees the florescent light of a bookstore shelf. The author produces a first draft that is revised by the developer or managing editor. The WW staffer indicates content and direction changes, but also indicates where writing style can be improved. The redlined manuscript is sent back to the author and a second draft is created that incorporates the required changes. Sometimes a third draft is required, whether by intent... or necessity.
When the finished manuscript comes in, the developer or managing editor pores over it and makes further content changes to improve the quality of the material. That might mean increasing stats, heightening tension or establishing a more evocative mood.
Once a book is developed, it goes to copy editing to make sure all the i's are crossed and t's are dotted.
While the book is in copy editing, art directors hire artists to do illustrations for the book, both cover and interior. After the book is edited, it goes into production, where text files are laid out into what will become finished pages. Art, borders, charts and designs are then placed.
Once everyone in the office is satisfied with (or at least minimally frustrated by) the content and layout of the book, it's sent to the printer. During this time, sales and marketing folks assail retailer and customer ears about the virtues of our creation. Several weeks later, we receive copies of the finished, honest-to-goodness, paper-in-our-hands book. That's when it gets shipped to distributors and retailers, is put on shelves, and hopefully ends up in your hands.
The whole process, from when the first letter is typed on the author's keyboard to when the book dazzles your eyes, takes several months, often as long as a year.
Though the hard part is over on our end, the most intense part remains as we await your reactions. Sometimes you're thrilled, sometimes you're disappointed. Either way, we've done our best. Whether you're excited or bummed by a book, at least you now know what lengths we go to make you feel that way.
