What Kind of Dressing Would You Like?[]

Who were all those RPG industry faces at the CES, the computer game show? Mark Rein-Hagen and Ray Winninger were seen carrying business cards bearing the logo "Cry Wolf." What's this, secret dealings among the greats of the industry? MR-H says "Interactive computer entertainment is the thing that'll make RPGs dinosaurs... This is the future of gaming, right here."

Some Games Never Die[]

Have you wondered what Wizards of the Coast is doing with all the cash you're spending on Magic: The Gathering? They're hiring a game designer (Jonathan Tweet, formerly apart of the antiquated Lion Rampant) and buying a roleplaying game (Ars Magica, although White Wolf retains the right to develop material based on the game). Rumor has it that they're also hard at work on a Magic: The Gathering RPG. Meanwhile, Legends, Relics, Ice Age and the Vampire Deckmaster game Jyhad are in the works.

Cool Internet Runnings[]

I'm on the Internet and, I tell ya, weird things are happening. Steve Jackson Games has created a MUSH, a multi-user game that's text based. It's kind of like the old Infocom text games, but it's multi-user and user-programmable. There are a number of White Wolf MUSHes in Internetland, where tragically hip roleplayers complain about their tortured virtual existences. The White Wolf MUSH, called The Storyteller's Circle (TSC), is in the works, complete with a virtual White Wolf Game Studio. If you're internet-connected and telnet-capable, the IP address is whitewolf.vnet.net6666, but you'll have to contact me, at ragabash@netcom.com, to get access. Special thanks to the wizards at TSC: Leanne, Kirby and Kiley, and to my Story Engineer, Mitchell.

White Wolf Howls[]

Here's some wolf poop for ya: Travis Williams (former 'Wired columnist) and William Hale (former Warehouse Manager) have gone on to bigger things. Travis has signed up with GameTek and William has gone 100% freelance, as head of his own Quintessential Mercies studio. He hints at a highly controversial RPG.

On the Horizon[]

After this issue, our horizon may be gloomy.

  • Your preliminary ballots are in! Next issue will post the Honorable Mentions of the first annual Wolfie Awards.
  • Last Stand is here! Our new miniatures column.
  • Regular columns return.
  • Present Dangers, Part Two of our official three-part Werewolf: The Apocalypse Second Edition adventure.
  • Official Kult Adventure, His Last Hope.
  • Yet another jaunt into official land: TSR's Zeb Cook gives us an insight into Planescape.
  • Part five of Legacy Rite, the official Werewolf comic.
  • If possible, I'd also like to get some fiction into next issue.

And, don't miss the all-new Gilligangrels Island created by Sean McLane with a while new type of castaways including:

  • Brujah as the Skipper
  • Malkavian as Gilligan
  • Tremere as the Professor
  • Gangrel as Mary Ann
  • Toreador as Ginger
  • Ventrue as Mr. Howell
  • And, Nosferatu as Mrs. Howell
