The Way of the Scholar is an Arcanos unique to the wraiths of the Dark Kingdom of Jade. The wraiths who use this Arcanos can manipulate the huns of other wraiths, in essence controlling their minds and actions.

The Way of the Scholar has loose elements in common with the Arcanoi of Keening and Intimation.

Basic Abilities

• Studious Nature: All knowledge rolls are made at a difficulty 1 lower than normal. In addition, Scholars may specialize after one level of a Knowledge.

Standard Powers

• Discern the Lie: A Scholar may tell if another wraith is lying to them.
• Inquiry: A Scholar can force a target to answer another question truthfully.
• Word of Yu Huang: A Scholar can issue a basic command that can be loosely followed.
• Filial Duty: A Scholar may make a subject willingly cooperate with them.
• The Emperor's Servant: A Scholar can create permanent orders in the minds of other wraiths.

Alternate Powers

Wraith: The Great War

Way of the Scholar abilities during the Great War are the same as the basic abilities and standard powers with the following exceptions, which replace the skills of the same level or where noted.

• Authority: Other than the name, the same as Word of Yu Huang.
• Subsume the Will: Other than the name, the same as The Emperor's Servant.
