Walker Grimes is a Caitiff from the book, The Hunters Hunted.
Biography[]
Walker Grimes was a man-about-town, wealthy and proud of it. He had money and good looks - all a man needs to get through life well. He sneered at the homeless, jobless bums and went out of his way to make life miserable for them. One of them finally got mad enough to do something. One who wasn't human.
Gary was a Nosferatu, as ugly as they come and resentful as hell of that Grimes mortal who sicced police on all of Gary's friends, the only humans who looked up to him and appreciated him regardless of is looks. He would teach Grimes a real lesson.
When Walker's house security alarm went off in the middle of the night, he grabbed his flashlight and gun from the bedstand drawer, and went out into the hall to search for the intruder. He saw him, below on the second level, wandering the large foyer. It looked like a street bum. Pointing the gun, he yelled for the burglar to halt. The intruder stopped and slowly turned, looking up.
Walker almost retched - he had never seen anyone so ugly. Before he knew it, the thing was up the stairs and next to him, tearing at his neck. He screamed as the creature bit into him, its moldy hands grasping his face into a lock. All began to turn dark, fading away... and then the blood. He grasped it like a rope flung to a drowning man, and began lapping it up in great gulps.
Then came the changes - horrible, wracking pains and ugly, explosive smells from all of his orifices, as his body began to react to the putrid blood in its system. Eventually, the pain stopped and Walker caught his breath. He looked up to see the Vampire that stood there, watching him.
As he raised his head, he saw the smirk on the creature's face. But the smirk was instantly wiped away to one of shock and horror. Then revulsion. The creature screamed and ran out of the house.
It was not a scream of fear, but of anguish and pain. For Walker Grimes, after the Turning, after the blood of the Nosferatu Clan had coursed into his veins, was still as handsome as he had always been. To Gary, this was the ultimate act of an unjust universe, and he could not now face his Childe.
But Walker was horrified, for there were disgusting lumps all over his body now, everywhere except his head and hands. He would have to go through life dressed head to toe to hide his disfigurement. He was enraged, and screamed that he would have his revenge against the Vampire for the ugliness he had been cursed with, unaware that, of all Nosferatu, he was the most blessed.
He now spends his time and vast fortunes hunting down his Sire. He found another Vampire, a Caitiff, and learned much from him of the Camarilla and Clan Nosferatu. He has had many hard lessons to learn on his own about what being a Vampire is like, and he plans to pay back all the pain he has had to endure. Against Clan Nosferatu.
He appears, when fully dressed (usually in a suit), like a normal mortal, although an exceptionally pale one. The only outward sign of his physical disfigurement is an odd birthmark behind the left ear.
But hidden under his clothes are warty bumps and "birthmark" blotches over all his skin. Hair grows in strange places, sometimes in patches and sometimes thick as fur.
