The Volvas are an occupation of the great Kithain sorceresses of House Aesin.
Overview[]
A great sisterhood, the Volvas see themselves as having the largest responsibility to the fae of all others. They are the ones the men go to before going into battle, the ones everyday Aesin fear and revere. They are women with powers beyond those of regular fae and are proficient in Cantrips and Arts and Divination. A Volva is proud of her heritage and carries on the traditions of the House without ever doubting them. The wooden staff they receive at their initiation is something they proudly carry wherever they go.
Cross-Gender Roles[]
The professions within House Aesin are all divided by sex. Of course there are always some who prefer to step outside of the bounds of tradition and follow the path of the opposite sex. So long as the individual can stand the teasing and prove him or herself, acceptance usually comes.
