Semira Micci, Cahalith member of the Valkyrja
The Valkyrja (Valkyries, Wælcyrge, Summis-Urdu) are an all-female mot who perform special funeral rites for great warriors.
Overview[]
The Valkyrja believe that Father Wolf is not dead, but merely waiting in Valhalla, preparing for an apocalyptic final battle against the idigam. As his chosen daughters, the members of the mot seek out the greatest warriors among the People and use a special funeral rite to send them bodily to Father Wolf's den. They are also themselves fierce fighters, though they are hesitant to involve themselves in conflicts between the People. The mot's patrons are a set of powerful ancestor spirits; they are also known to feed and protect ravens.[1]
Members are chosen by the mot, and subjected to careful trials to confirm their bravery, judgement, and skill at arms. Those who decline to join may be chosen for the funeral rites after death. While their initiation rites are a secret, members are marked by their snow-white fur when in less human forms.[2]
