Ulu was a Stargazer who was a companion of the twins Yuri Tvarivich and Sophia Tvarivich in their battle against Zmei Sharkala the Cruel in 1240. He volunteered in Kiev, as soon as he heard the sibilings plight. Ulu and Georges of Armenia were ordered to perform the Song of Deep Sleep so they could make the Zmei sleep in case he could not be defeated. Ulu survived the battle, however, Sharkala prophesied that he would end "cursing at dry parchments in bitter wastes".[1]
