The Twice-Cursed are a pseudo-clan of vampires who seemingly suffer both the Daeva and Nosferatu clan banes. Constantly tempted by humanity yet repulsive to it, the Stalkers have found a niche as hired killers for the All Night Society, whether as revenge on other undead, or as a way to distract themselves from their miseries.

History

The Stalkers first appear in Kindred records during a TB outbreak in 19th century Rhode Island, during the infamous New England vampire panic. At first assumed to be revenants, their curses and lack of an overwhelming hunger soon revealed their strangeness. Despite protection from the Lancea et Sanctum, the local Kindred killed these "twice-cursed" soon after they made themselves known, scapegoating them for the plague among the kine.

Why these vampires rose is unclear. Some believe they're literal offshoots of Nosferatu and Daeva blood, a kind of failed bloodline, while others say they were an ironic punishment on the local Kindred for trying to save plague victims with the Embrace. Others believe that vampires like the Twice-Cursed are much older, sharing certain qualities with older myths of bloodsucking monsters, family hauntings, and victims of disease.

Clan Bane and Other Traits

In addition to the Miserable Curse, the combined effect of the Haunt and Serpent banes. Furthermore, Twice-Cursed can only Embrace Touchstones, whether their own or other vampires'. They also have difficulty learning Majesty and Nightmare, although they gain certain other Daeva and Nosferatu traits automatically.

Unlike other Kindred, Twice-Cursed gain both their Favored Attributes at character creation.
