Tibet is a country in Asia, which is currently part of the People's Republic of China. This page is about Tibet in the World of Darkness.

Overview[]

Tibetan is located high in the Himalayas on a plateau. From the sixteenth century until the 1950s it was ruled by a Buddhist theocracy, the head of which was the Dalai Lama.[citation needed] In 1950, China sent troops into the country to annex it; the Dalai Lama fled to India, where he set up a government in exile.[1]

Werewolf: The Apocalypse[]

Tibet is the ancestral homeland of the Stargazers tribe, and their original lupine Kinfolk was likely the Tibetan Black Wolf.[2]

Mage: The Ascension[]

The Akashic Brotherhood and the Wu Lung both maintain a significant presence in Tibet, and believe that Mount Kailash is in fact the remains of the sacred mountain of Meru, from which the first mages descended. The Dragon River War was fought over control of the mountain.[3]

Kindred of the East[]

Some of the Kuei-jin also believe that Meru once lay in Tibet, and that it was the headquarters of the Wan Xian before their fall into corruption. Today next to no Tibetans become Kuei-jin, and any Kuei-jin who attempts to enter Tibet suffers from a debilitating loss of chi. A few Kuei-Jin, mostly of the Bone Court, continue to work on a way to enter Tibet safely in order to find Meru's ruins.[citation needed]
