The Red Sign is a sourcebook for Vampire: The Masquerade and Mage: The Ascension. The book is a part of the Time of Judgment and centers around the last conspiracies of both that formed towards the end of the world.
Summary
From the White Wolf catalog:
- Forbidden Arcana
- The Curse of Caine is a Biblical punishment, handed down by God Himself. Could it be true that a conspiracy of Kindred and mages has found a way to reverse its effects? As the world comes closer and closer to Gehenna, might the Kindred escape their divine fate? Or is it all part of some larger plan? As a title that combines the themes of Mage and Vampire, The Red Sign is a Lovecraftian revelation of ages-old horror. As the Kindred discover a method to escape damnation, a faction of mages aids them in their blasphemous quest. Players can either join the conspiracy or oppose it -- or find themselves knowing entirely too much about it.
- The Red Sign includes:
- A new secret society to join or confront
- An opportunity to participate as characters from Mage or Vampire
- New revelations to protect or exploit
Chapters
Introduction
How to use the book, and why it was written.
Chapter One: An Undead Evil (Vampires)
The Kindred have looked for a way around their curse, from the Tremere Project to Golconda. However, Ambrogino Giovanni has formed a deal with a group of mages who may be able to reverse the Embrace.
Chapter Two: The Will and the Way (Mages)
Information on the Pogrom of the Technocracy, which has helped keep supernatural creatures from gaining enough power to defeat humanity, and on Geary Mandel's new plan to make that change permanent.
Chapter Three: Rituals and Schemes
Legends of how Kindred have escaped their curses before, and information on the Ritual of the Red Sign, which is the newest possibility of redemption.
Chapter Four: Conspirators
The players in the conspiracy, both major and minor, for and against.
Chapter Five: Storytelling
How to set up a campaign for the Final Nights.
Background Information
This book, although it was a Vampire: The Masquerade title, served as a book for both Vampire and Mage: The Ascension in the Time of Judgment. This echoes a similar book, 2000's Blood Treachery, a Mage title intended for both Vampire and Mage game lines, and one of the signature books for the Year of Revelations.

"Much can be said about Ambrogino Giovanni – one of the greatest necromancers in his clan, an occult genius, a rogue in one of the tightest-knitted clans and a right bastard."
— Ambrogino Giovanni, Ambition Personified
