It's worth noting, I believe, that Carpenter survived the 'Year of the Scarab' novel trilogy simply so it would be plausible that he could appear in the console game.
- Personal note from AberrantEyes: If Carpenter ever returned, I haven't read the supplement in which it happened. Likewise, I know only about as much as I've said here about what he did between his death and his arrival on H-N. I'd welcome any filling-in of blanks, obviously. (-8
- Note from Gensuke626: Carpenter shows up again in the Year of the Scarab Novels. If someone reading this has time and energy on their hands, please go further in depth about this.
- (original poster here) Actually, what I meant is that Carpenter's last appearance in any of the books was the 'Year of the Scarab' trilogy. He was originally meant to be killed at the end, but the author left him 'alive' so that he could appear in the games. At some point I'm probably going to just get an account here myself and do some editing, as among other things Carpenter's cause of death is misrepresented... as far as I know, he wasn't shot-- or at least, it didn't kill him (YotS has a flashback), but in fact he was fed vampire blood to keep him alive as his bones were broken over and over again over the course of an entire night and he was fed into a meat grinder. He is unique in that he's the only known Risen who's managed to get by without his original body.--172.147.129.53 12:19, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- Probably not that unique; I expect there were a lot of cases like him after the Sixth Great Maelstrom. He's just the highest-profile one (so to speak). AberrantEyes 12:32, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
