Sources & Citations?[]

Who put this together? There are no sources/citations at all, and tracking down copies of Exalted books to go through will take time. --Primarch Anubis (talk) 03:19, July 7, 2020 (UTC)

Sorry, I had not realized I needed to sign both questions, which I made in a single post. Signing added. --Primarch Anubis (talk) 22:18, July 11, 2020 (UTC)

The previous unsigned comment was not by me.

This page has serious problems and is not canon. It's a fanon attempt to merge the 12-Age wheel of Kindred of the East with the open-ended series of 3 ages in Exalted. The only part here that's true is that Exalted 1st edition was advertised as the prehistory of the World of Darkness, in both WoD books and on the back of some early Exalted books. The rest of this page needs to be rewritten for Exalted alone, and the speculation moved to Talk. Small Earth Cat (talk) 04:20, July 8, 2020 (UTC)

I disagree. I advise instead of removing the speculation/WoD references to make a Notes or Trivia section of the page, at the bottom, would be better than relegating it to the Talk page, as it would better serve the community. There's too many points of commonality between Exalted and the WoD. Developers made the decision post-launch, that Exalted and WoD would continue as separate universes instead of one and the same, they still did not dictate all chronicles had to be slave to canon. So the effort to reconcile timelines, while not canon, are helpful to those who treat Exalted as prehistory/precursor to the WoD. --Primarch Anubis (talk) 22:39, July 11, 2020 (UTC)

I like trying to reconcile Exalted as the prehistory of the WoD. But I think that that should go on a separate page, not the page with the Exalted-specific name "Ages of Man". I think we should avoid getting this confused with canon. Exalted is the prehistory of the WoD in First Edition, but this precise arrangement of the Ages is still speculation (I myself line them up differently). I think the connections between the WoD and Exalted deserve their own page - they go beyond the Ages, and would make a very interesting (and long) article in themselves. But I think there should also be a page for just the Exalted Ages of Man, and a page for just the KOTE/WTA/Hsien Wheel of Ages. The Ages of Man title best fits the Exalted-specific concept, IMO. Six Ages or Twelve? Eleven?[]

The claim the Twelfth Age is also the First Age of the next Cycle is incorrect; Twelfth would be Zero, to the new Cycle. In order for that claim to be true, there'd have to be Eleven Ages/divisions, not Twelve.

--Primarch Anubis (talk) 03:19, July 7, 2020 (UTC)

Hengeyokai describes the Twelfth Age in the same terms as the First Age (a time when all things are merged into one), but as a Zhong Lung's hopeful speculation for the future, and without stating they're literally the same. PGttCB and CB20 have nothing to say on the matter. I don't know anything about the Kuei-Jin or Hsien versions, beyond what's on this very wiki. Small Earth Cat (talk) 02:29, July 14, 2020 (UTC)

A solution to both questions[]

The page Wheel of Ages has a description of the KOTE version in more detail, with references, and a speculation place for the Exalted connection. I think the WoD stuff from this page should be moved there, this page should be changed to Exalted-only with speculation in a separate section, and the majority of the speculation should be given its own page Connections between Exalted and the WOD. - Small Earth Cat (talk) 20:22, July 25, 2020 (UTC)
