Syria is a country on the eastern Mediterranean coast. Historically, the region labeled "Syria" or "Greater Syria" included not only the modern-day Syrian Arab Republic, but also parts of Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. Important locations in Syria include Damascus, Aleppo, Palmyra, and Ashur. Greater Syria may or may not be synonymous with the Assyrian Empire.

For the real-world country of Syria, see Syria. For the region, see Syria (region).

Vampire: The Masquerade[]

The Baali trace their lineage back to the ancient city of Ashur.[1] Many of the vampires in Syria substantially predate Islam, although some, such as Varro of Aleppo, later converted and allied themselves with the Ashirra.[2]

Mage: The Ascension[]

Palmyra was a stronghold of the Taftani until Queen Zenobia's defeat by Roman (and Hermetic) forces in 274.[3]

The Knights of St. George were founded in Syria in the eleventh century, originally as one of the Guardian Orders of the Celestial Chorus.[4][5]

The Arcanum suspects that the only surviving library of the mystical Order of St. Hermes is located in the AI Jabal ash Sharqi mountains of Syria.[6]

Wraith: the Oblivion[]

Syria's military-minded government is said to experiment with projecting into the Underworld. They're using Alawis as guinea pigs, who because of their religious beliefs don't fear the process.[7]

Changeling: The Dreaming[]

Syria is part of the Changeling Kingdom, Caliphate of Cedars[8].
