Sybil is a direct childe of the Lasombra Antediluvian, as well as the secret sire of the fallen Prince Marcus Vitel.
Biography[]
In all likelihood, Sybil's Embrace predates the birth of Christ, but very few among Clan Lasombra are aware of her existence.
During the reign of the Roman Emperor Tiberius she embraced Lucius Aelius Sejanus. Later she secretly followed him to North America.

For years, her manipulations of the North American territories were unwittingly carried out by the Tremere Marissa, the former Prince of Washington, DC. Later she sent her childe Marcus Vitel, masquerading as a Ventrue, to overthrow Marissa and claim the princedom. He ruled until 1999 when his secret was revealed and he was allegedly destroyed. Her influence in modern nights is unknown.
Beckett's Jyhad Diary has a possible plot hook: "Vitel was woken by his sire. Sybil secrets herself wherever she chooses, and has been orchestrating Vitel’s actions since his Embrace. For her, the events in D.C. are just another attempt to get access to America’s nuclear launch codes. She believes the Antediluvians are coming, and Vitel is still the vampire in the best position to eliminate them."

- Libellus Sanguinis I[1] states that [Lasombra] refused to Embrace women for reasons he would not elaborate on. Sybil's existence contradicts this claim. It is possible that the account presented by Libellus Sanguinis only mentions the knowledge of European Lasombra, who also note that their Antediluvian embarked on prolonged journeys around the world following Thera's eruption 3,500 years ago. Sybil might have been Embraced during these periods without the knowledge of the main body of the clan, and perhaps [Lasombra] chose to not repeat the "experiment" afterwards. However she is most likely from the mediterranean region, and was called Lasombra's American Childe after she relocated to North America. If the statement that Lasombra never embraced a woman is true, it is possible that Sybil commited diablerie.
- The sibyls were oracles in Ancient Greece. The earliest sibyls, according to legend, prophesied at holy sites. Their prophecies were influenced by divine inspiration from a deity; originally at Delphi and Pessinos, the deities were chthonic deities. In Late Antiquity, various writers attested to the existence of sibyls in Greece, Italy, the Levant, and Asia Minor.
