Sullivan is a Caitiff vampire who lived in San Fransisco. He was the protagonist of Keith Herber's Dark Prince.
Biography[]
Sullivan was a "crimp" or man who sold other sailors into impressment on vessels needing crews. He was spotted by Vannevar Thomas as a potential childe when he ended up being Embraced by Kwon of The Family (San Fransisco) instead. Never entirely accepted by the Family, he would eventually become hold down the city's infamous Tenderloin as his personal domain and run a prostitution ring out of it. Sullivan would kill Vannevar Thomas' childe, Swede, during a knife fight and remain doggedly loyal to the Family despite being unable to rise in its ranks due to his Caucasian ancestry.
Sullivan would eventually get caught in a complicated plot against the Family that resulted in the Grandfather's death as well as several important other Kindred like Delfonso and Selene. He would be adopted by Prince Thomas formally in 1994 and blood bound.
Notes[]
- While Sullivan is listed as a Caitiff, he is actually unknown in his blood. The Family's Clan or Bloodline, if they have one, is never defined in the books and Sullivan never finds out from them what his relationship to Caine (if any) is.
