Such Pain is a continuation of the short story, "That Which is Given" by Don Bassingthwaite, from the Truth Until Paradox anthology.
The cover uses art by Janet Aulisio that is also used in the Mage: The Ascension Rulebook (Pg. 136).
Tango is never stated in the novel to be a changeling, but is able to resist the reality warping caused by Stefan. She would be the main character and described as a Unseelie Nocker in Bassingthwaite's Pomegranates Full and Fine. Aaron Barry is briefly mentioned in Pomegranates Full and Fine as well.
At the end of the novel, Kate, Aaron and Stefan become friends/allies.
The front of the book lists Wyrm Wolf (Feb. '95) and Dark Prince (Dec. '94).
