Sheaffer was a Malkavian scholar who researched the Codex of the Damned. This research, unfortunately, resulted in him garnering the attention of Diablerists, who killed Sheaffer and took his research for themselves.

Sheaffer suffered from Intellectualization, which did not not prevent him from functioning night to night. It was in fact only a minor exaggeration of his mortal personality.

Biography[]

When he was mortal, Shaeffer had a fascination with knowledge in all it's forms, but history and philosophy hold a special place in his life. He would have spent entire life researching some piece of esoterica but he was foolish enough to wander into the wrong part of Los Angeles and was cut down by a drive-by shooting. His sire, whomever he was, was the last thing he saw before his first death.

Over the course of his existence, the Malkavian gained a large, theoretical understanding of Thaumaturgy, despite having no aptitude for the Discipline himself. From a friend, he gained possession of the Codex of the Damned and tried to translate it to gain its knowledge. In this quest, he eventually arrived in Chicago, drawn there by the discovery of the city of Tzental by the archaeologist Samuel Clearwater. Clearwater was murdered by a Sabbat vampire before he could meet him, so he instead tried to reach out to those that had last contact with him. He never had the chance to meet any of these people, as he was murdered by a diablerist who killed him to gain the Codex of the Damned.
