The Seven Sisters are an organisation of high-society women who use mediumship and other psychic powers to acquire political influence. Principally they are channelers, allowing wraiths to ride them using Puppetry. As they counsel political figures, members are required to adhere to a high moral standard. The Serpentines are a four-women offshoot of the Sisters with far less scruples.
History[]
When back in the 19th century the original Seven Sisters were orphaned during the birth of the youngest triplets, they afterward starting hearing their dead mother's voice. The oldest sister, Gwyn Jones, encouraged her siblings to contact their mother. Gradually they learned to speak to her and then with other ghosts. Eventually Gwyn moved her younger sisters to Philadelphia, where they started their careers as mediums. In 1848 when the Foxes hit it big, the sister's business went international, attracting the attention of politicians and nobility abroad. Their predictions usually came true, so they became immensely influential. Gwyn instituted the Seven Sisters in 1911, a society that was to improve the reputation of mediumship in political circles.
Organisation[]
They're based in Washington DC where they maintain a small office and meet in the basement of the downtown library. Running out of Sisters' homes are also a number of regional branch offices. These exist in San Diego, London, Paris, Moscow and Berlin. The Executive Council in DC handles most administrative duties relating to assignments and new memberships. When someone has been a Sister for ten or more years they are eligible to take a seat on this council. If in turn a woman has sat in the Executive Council for ten years, she could become a Political Liaison. Advising clients on the most secret of issues and also maintaining contact with more powerful ghosts.
