The Sept of the Wheel of Ptah is a Silent Strider caern in Casablanca, Morocco. [1]
History[]
The tale of the pack that discovered the caern of the Wheel of Ptah is told at almost every major Moot Rite that the sept performs. The heroes are three Silent Striders - Night, Howl and Wind (their true names have been lost) - and one Stargazer, Sight-of-Sun. This pack trekked across the forbidden plains to gather 13 clues which eventually lead them to this place.
When the Get of Fenris invaded the caern during World War II, the Silent Striders leadership quietly withdrew their support and vanished through the Wheel's many gates. Ptah also withdrew his power and, as a result, the caern itself immediately lost power. Moon Bridge routes all across Europe collapsed at the same time. Suddenly the Get were cut off from their support and had to rely on mundane transportation. Since then, the Get have found it difficult to open a Moon Bridge to the caern.
After this occurrence, the Wheel of Ptah has enjoyed a curious reputation and tradition that is nearly unique in the Garou world: the caern is, by custom, neutral territory.
W5 Timeline[]
With the onset of the Era of Apocalypse and the resultant devastation of the Spirit Wilds, Moon Bridges grew increasingly hard to open, until by the time of the fall of the Garou Nation, only those most attuned to Luna could call one forth. The Sept of the Wheel of Ptah, with how well it understood the workings of these byways, was one of the last caerns in the world to keep its network of Moon Bridges in working order, but eventually it too failed to maintain them.[2]
The sept's remaining members are, however, doggedly committed to restoring the old network that brought life and wonder to their caern and united Garou all across the world — although exactly how they plan do this remains unknown, at least to outsiders.
