Sekhem is an ancient Egyptian term that means "power" or "life force". For the Undying, Sekhem refers to the life energy flowing through the world and focused within the Web of Faith. This energy helps sustain them in their immortal existence, and it allows them to use the magic of Hekau. Sekhem is easiest to regain in the regions connected with the Web of Faith, but there are other methods. Nevertheless, many Undying prefer to remain in the Middle East after their Hajj.
If a Mummy ever loses all their Sekhem, they experience Semektet.
Sekhem is the same thing as Chi, Gnosis and Quintessence. Glamour is a form of Sekhem, just as diamonds are a form of carbon.
