Re:Venge - also referred to as RV - is a small start-up tech company that claims to offer freelance Hunters a means by which to network, coordinate, and bring justice to those affected by the supernatural. However, in reality its applications and services are little more than a massive data-mining scheme, in which grieving families and inexperienced vigilantes are tricked into forfeiting their own technological privacy. Re:Venge then sells the acquired data to the highest bidder: usually government organizations with their own designs regarding the paranormal.
The sad irony is that RV's networking capabilities could very well serve as a much-needed edge to many independent cells, if not for their predatory business practices and active promotion of the idea of vengeance as the best and only solution. Angry customers are less likely to read the fine print, after all. Ultimately, it's only a matter of time before one of RV's "independent contractors" takes things too far.
