Ranulph was a part of the See of Nod in the Dark Ages, supervising the spread of the Cainite Heresy in France and the Kingdom of England.

Not faithful, but power-hungry, Ranulph uses his connections to the heresy to cement his position against his rivals in England. He rose to a position of power within the See of Nod after Toreador agents had managed to infiltrate the Lateran Palace in the 1130s. Ranulph controlled the heretical strongholds in Aquitaine and Gascony and worked to extend his reach even further. Later, much of his influence was lost due to the Albigensian Crusade in the early 13th century.
