Operation: Twilight is a cancelled expansion set for the Rage CCG.
Summary[]
From the White Wolf Game Studio (July to January '97) 1996 Catalog:
"Join the agency that hunts the hunters - Operation: Twilight. Employ government operatives determined to end the werewolf menace once and for all! Gain abilities previously unknown to the servants of Gaia and the Wyrm alike. Strive to make the world safe for humanity. Just over 150 cards makes Operation: Twilight a broad new expansion for Rage that introduces new powers, characters, equipment and victory conditions." -pg. 34
Background Information[]
The expansion set takes influence from the sourcebook, Project: Twilight from Werewolf: The Apocalypse.
The set was going to introduce a new third faction to compete with the two other factions (Gaia and Wyrm).
It was cancelled when the late 1996 CCG crash happened and White Wolf also had to deal with the downturn in the book store market, having to make massive cuts in their card and fiction departments.
Justin Achilli also hinted at an unnamed Rage expansion after Operation: Twilight on alt.games.whitewolf.rage, but shot down any suggestions that the expansion was about the War of Rage/Lost Tribes.
"Following Legacy is Operation Twilight, due in Jan/ Feb of '97. After that I can't say yet, but boy is it good..." - Justin Achilli
"??? A supplement dealing with the lost tribes ??? They're all dead... Not much market for a 0-card supplement :)" - Justin Achilli
Considering the sourcebooks and development at the time, it either was about Werewolf: the Wild West (Which was in Rage Across Las Vegas Phases 4, 5 and 6) or the Hengeyokai.
Five Rings Publishing Group would then buy the license to revive the Rage CCG in 1997, but would face some setbacks that pushed the publication to the Summer/Fall Quarter of 1998.
