Pilot56 is an Imbued and user on hunter-net. They were trained as a pilot, but later worked for the U.S. federal government in other capacities.
In 2000 they posted a series of anonymous messages regarding the U.S. government's knowledge of the Imbued. Prior to revealing their identity, other users referred to them as "MFL" or "Mysterious Federal Lurker". Pilot56 worked for the U.S. federal government in an agency that monitored electromagnetic transmissions. They broke the news that the U.S. government had developed tools for viewing a "parallel dimension" and for detecting the presence of its native inhabitants. Recently, the probe in the other dimension stopped working and they started detecting aliens in our dimension. This experience, as well as the events in New Dijon, convinced them that an alien invasion was underway and that Hunters were a part of it.
