See also Petra (disambiguation)

Petra is a Nosferatu of Cairo. She is one of the rare vampires who possesses True Faith.

During her lifetime, Petra lived in the twilight of Turkish rulership over Cairo as an Coptic Christian. When Napoleon arrived, openly mocking Islamic culture and customs, the backlash against Christians was immense. Petra was stoned by an angry mob and left to die on the streets.

It was in this state that her future sire, Shagaret al-Durr, discovered her and granted her the Embrace in order to save her life. Her Nosferatu deformities take the form of stigmata wounds that never stop bleeding. Shagaret, in her undying hatred against the Hajj, wanted to use the girl as an example of the cruelty of the muslims and managed to coerce the neonate into serving her agenda.

This partnership came to an end when Petra met Shahid, a prominent member of the Hajj. Fascinated by him, the two began an affair and Petra discovered that the Hajj was neither as patrimonichal nor as close minded as her sire would want her to believe. By now, Petra is torn between her loyalties to Shahid and his agenda to reform the Hajj, and her loyalties to her sire. She knows that Shagaret has the right idea about equality and possibilities for women, but thinks she uses the wrong methods to achieve her agenda.

Recently, a pregnant Caitiff woman has come to her attention and she strives to protect her, seeing her pregnancy as a sign of God.
