The Penitent’s Pledge is a religious vow by which the oathbound is to proselytize non-believers.
Overview
Traditionally for the purposes of spreading a religion, this vow may also be modified for other tasks, such as tithing, aiding the needy, or keeping kosher. Regardless, it is an extreme vow whose breaking not only invokes the sanction, but also separates the forsworn from the community he once served.
The Vow
— All that is good in me is a blessing from you, and I will keep myself pure in honor of that gift. Shine your glory down upon me, and I will share it with those who have not yet seen the way, or be struck dumb for my disobedience. So I pledge, from this day forward, until I am once again welcomed into your holy bosom. Amen.
