The Pawnshop Lodgings are apartments located above Trip's Pawnshop on Main Street in Santa Monica. The entrance is at the back of an alley beside the pawnshop.

A set of mailboxes just inside the entrance indicated the inhabitants of the lodgings. In late 2004, the inhabitants included:

Apt 505 is unlocked and empty. It has a newspaper in front of the door, from which you might acquire the Carnival of Death quest.

Apt 506 cannot be opened, but you can sometimes hear its inhabitant snoring.

Apt 507 belongs to Marian Murietta. It can be picked relatively easily, and may be the first lock that PCs pick; but once Jumpin' the Bail is active, then a Spare Key which unlock the door will be found in the potted plant just outside the door.

The name on the mailbox for Apt 508 is shown as "Nivbed," albeit scratched out. The slightly-used apartment is provided as the first haven for the prince's agent.

Apt 508[]

The light is bare, the ceilings unfinished, and uneaten pizza is scattered all over the kitchen. Wooden boards are left leaning against the wall and in the middle of the floor in order to block out sunlight during the day. Above a stained mattress is a poster for Lacuna Coil's Comalie album. The bathroom contains a Normal Watch and Pill Bottle, and the refrigerator is stocked with three Blood Packs (or three Blue Blood Packs if a Ventrue).

A radio can be tuned into The Deb of Night, or a TV to the Nightly News @ 9.

On a nearby desk sits a laptop, a note from Mercurio, and a note from Maximillian Strauss.

Quests[]

  • Wherefore Art Thou
  • The Regent's Riddle
  • Carnival of Death
  • Jumpin' the Bail

Background Information[]

  • In standard apartment formatting, any "500" series apartments would be on the fifth floor. In this case there are two on the second floor and two on the third floor, and apts 501 to 504 don't exist as one would expect.
  • Peepin' - A Voyeur Field Guide is normally found under the sink in Apt 507, but in the Plus patch is has been moved to the same location in Apt 505.
  • Emails from a friend position the PC as a pawn. Where might one find a pawn? At (or in this case, above) a pawn shop.
  • Inhabitants include Bloodlines artist Sean Keegan, designer and artist Chad Moore, and former inhabitant Nivbed, aka artist Justin Cherry.
