Pack is a set of affinity Gifts for Forsaken that focuses on one's packmates working together. The spirits of creatures that hunt in packs teach these Gifts, including wolves, ants and dolphins.
First Edition[]
Powers[]
Web of Scent: A pack can only work together so well, even with the bonds of the totem joining each packmate. The spirits that grant the werewolf this Gift want him to work closer with his packmates, and to that end they let him share their senses. He can't communicate with his packmate or control where she looks; he is very much a passenger behind her eyes and nose.
Warning Howl: The spirits that teach this Gift show the packmembers that they are as one even when physical distance separates them. The Gift allows a werewolf to howl a warning to his packmates, calling their aid from anywhere within the pack's territory.
Brother's Strength: A true pack works together, each member contributing to whole that is definitely greater then the sum of its parts. The spirits that teach this Gift show the pack that this is so, allowing the packmembers to solve a problem that would normally only allow one werewolf to work on it as a pack, and making them better at working together normally. Of course, if the werewolf who possesses this Gift is not the pack alpha, some may question his right to be organizing so much of the pack's efforts.
Synergy: A pack that works together well will always have specialists. Sometime, a problem needs the same specialist to be in two places at once, and this Gift allows that. A werewolf can donate her skills in an area to another member of the pack, a transfer facilitated by the user of this Gift. The spirits that grant this Gift want each packmate to look beyond what she can do individually to what the pack can do as a whole.
Unity: The Pack is a being greater than the sum of it parts. Each member contributes something toward the whole, be they werewolf or totem spirit, but the pack performs great deeds and binds powerful spirits. The pack is the basic unit of werewolf life, and this Gift proves it, allowing members to pool their mental, physical and spiritual resources. Spirits teach other Pack Gifts in order to make a point to a pack, showing the packmembers an area where they are deficient. This Gift shows that the pack have nothing left to learn.
Second Edition[]
Powers[]
- Reflected Facets (Cunning): A werewolf is a weapon armed with Gifts. Like an artillery strike, this Facet grants the Uratha's pack the ability to guide her power.
- Down The Prey (Glory): A pack of Uratha working in concert is a glorious and often lethal sight to behold.
- Totem's Wrath (Honor): The werewolf injects Death Rage into the totem and forces it to physical form, where a Gauru-like shell hastily forms around it. The totem isn't itself at that moment - it is a murderous foe in the throes of Kuruth that can only distinguish "pack" from "not pack." Most totems believe that using this Facet violates their bargains with their packs, even those that enjoy violence and conflict. Use of this Facer can have a dramatic effect on the relationship between totem and pack.
- Maw of Madness (Purity): The jaws of the Uratha become a source of maddening taint, infecting the prey with a spasm of the Moon's mad love.
- Pack Awareness (Wisdom): The pack is an extension of the Uratha's own spirit, its life intertwined with her own. The pack is everything.
