The Orders are the five factions that constitute the Shadow Inquisition during the Dark Ages. The five orders are: Knights of Acre, Red Order, Oculi Dei, Sisters of St. John and House of Murnau.

Overview[]

The five orders that make up the shadow Inquisition are the thin line of faith that stands between the Christian people of Europe and the subtle fiends of Hell. In their few years of association, they have destroyed demons, banished spirits, and — most challenging of all — begun to learn how to work together. The Inquisition is in its infancy. When it matures, all those who use supernatural power in mockery of God will have much to fear.

For now, though, the orders are imperfect gatherings of faithful men and women, all with one goal but with varying opinions of how to get there. Each order has a different way of viewing the enemy and different ways of recruiting new members. Each pursues the great work in its own way. Because of this, the differences (and similarities) between the orders are worthy of deeper exploration.

The Orders are either Monastic (run by the Holy Mother Church) or Lay (unordained individuals who hear the holy call). Each Order has its own set of Blessings, which are the rites and magic they use to fight the supernatural, and Curses, drawbacks they receive when they are gifted with their powers.

Monastic Orders

Lay Orders

  • The House of Murnau, a cursed noble Bavarian family who has fought the denizens of darkness for centuries.
  • Oculi Dei, a network of individuals devoted to fighting the darkness.
