Okuma were the Gurahl of the East, slaughtered during the War of Shame. They were kin to the bears of East Asia: the sun bear, the moon bear, and the giant panda. Supposedly the werebears wanted no part of the infighting among the Beast Courts, and retreated to the mountains. This only persuaded the other Fera that they were definitely corrupt servants of Centipede, and they were destroyed to a one.
Kitsune legends claim that Prince Inari sent an envoy to the last Okuma, and the bear shifter taught them gifts that they might survive the next War of Shame.
