North Wind, sometimes also known as Ice Wind or the Cruel One, is the Patron Spirit of the Galestalkers tribe of Garou.
Overview[]
North Wind is renowned for its boundless power, great endurance, patience, and ability to rouse the elements, all of which it demands from those that it blesses. A spirit of the harshest of climates, North Wind can be a demanding patron, often requiring its petitioners to prove their ability to survive in the brutal wilderness just as well as the wolves that they take the shape of.
Favors and Bans[]
North Wind and the Galestalker tribe are associated with Honor — when they commit to a course of action, other Garou can depend upon it.
Favor[]
North Wind is tireless, even unstoppable. Having formed a pact with the Galestalkers as its hunters, North Wind bestows some amount of that uncompromising devotion upon Garou of the tribe. A Galestalker may add a die to dice pools directly related to the pursuit of their prey.
Ban[]
North Wind has an insatiable hunger, and so do those who pledge themselves to it. For any day that a Galestalker does not partake of fresh kill (regardless of whether it was they who hunted it), they regain only a single point of Willpower at the beginning of the next session, instead of their Composure or Resolve rating.
Trivia[]
- In previous editions (1st to Revised) of the Werewolf Player Guides, North Wind was part of the Wind Incarna and was part of the Lodge of the Winds in a First/Second Edition Tribebook. The Wind Incarna and the Lodge of the Winds also comprised of the South Wind, West Wind, East Wind and sometimes the Umbral Wind. W5 Storytellers and players could update the previous incarnations of those other spirits as use for Pack Spirits or Patron Spirits for factions that they could create.
