The Mothers are an occupation of female kithain who care for childlings and fosterlings of House Aesin.
Overview[]
The Mothers have the joyful duty of teaching newborn Aesin the ways of the House and every fae of the House has at least one. When the fledge reaches the age where they must pass the Fior-Righ, the Mothers turn them over to a master to prepare them for the coming trial. Most Mothers look out for their fosterlings long after they have grown and many fae return to them later in life for help and advice.
Cross-Gender Roles[]
The professions of House Aesin are all divided by sex. Of course there are some who prefer to step outside of the bounds of Tradition and follow a path usually taken by the opposite sex. So long as the individual can stand the teasing and prove him or herself, acceptance eventually comes.
