Reverend Dr. Montague Winters is an Episcopal minister, a Hermetic scholar, and a member of the Arcanum's Boston chapter house.
Biography[]
Rev. Winters is one of the world's preeminent scholars of Hermeticism. He does not believe this presents any contradiction with his Christian faith, though this is a opinion shared by few of his fellow clergy. As a young man, he was approached a "stranger in the park" and introduced him to the concepts of Hermeticism, and pursued his studies of the occult alongside his formal theological education. By the time of his ordination, he was also a practicing alchemist.
Multiple reprimands from his superiors in the church brought him to the attention of the Arcanum, but he has yet to take on any apprentices, though not for lack of willing candidates. By day, he teaches at Westminster Theological College in Boston, the same institution where he received his doctorate.
