Mohammed al-Muthlim, born Walter Johnson, was the leader of the powerful gang known as the Crypt's Sons and a Bishop of Los Angeles until the Kuei-jin arrived and the Anarch Free State collapsed.

Biography[]

Walter Johnson originally lived in Chicago, until his father was transferred to another job in New York City. Alone and cut off from his friends, Walter fell in with some very bad people, joining the gang life. His natural leadership qualities allowed him to assume control of the gang very quickly and he managed to drive off several other competitors. When Walter came into contact with the teachings of Elijah Muhammad, he became a fanatical Black Moslem, even changing his name to Mohammed to reflect this. The Sabbat, busy with recruiting new members for a war pack against Los Angeles, noticed him and gave him the Embrace. Mohammed's fanaticism found a new vent in the Sabbat and he changed his last name into al-Muthlim to celebrate his abandonment of his humanity.

When the siege began and Mohammed realized that he was going to lose, he quickly changed sides, slaughtering his pack alongside the frenzied Anarchs. After the siege, he helped as many Sabbat as possible to escape from L.A, all the while claiming to be an Anarch himself. Scheming to conquer the Free States from within and vying for the archbishopric over the city, he made his own "gang", named the Crypt's Sons, in order to expand his territory within the Free States.

One of Salvador García's conditions for supporting the Kuei-jin were that the Cathayans would deal with the Crypt's Sons and al-Muthlim. The Cathayans happily obliged and killed al-Muthlim and his pack.
