The Midnight Pact is an elite, secret cadre of Leanhaun knights within the Knights Protector.

The Midnight pact is a select group of Knights Protector go beyond their ordinary duties to protect the interests of the House. They form an elite group, a sort of a ruling council that determines policy, assigns knights to guard certain dignitaries or freeholds, grants honors, and determines penalties to those under their command. Getting their name from their first meetings in the late hours of the night, these knights are fanatical and have taken upon themselves the role of judges and assassins. They hunt down any who discovers the secrets of the House and doesn't join with binding oaths to keep those secrets. They act as a Star Chamber to try kithain who have proven troublesome to the house, whether they are Leanhaun or not. Seelie fae who interfere with the House may find themselves faced with a group of hooded avengers who will punish them with everything from stripping them of Glamour and dumping them in an alley to death with cold iron.
No one but the Pact itself knows the full extent of their activities or how highly they sit. Certainly some of them sit on the High Council. Candidates for inclusion are watched for a time and then offered a chance to carry out a mission, usually an assassination. Success brings one into the Pact. Failure or refusal ends in Death. The Midnight Pact does not tolerate failure.
