A metis condition, variously referred to in the books as a metis disfigurement or metis deformity, is a term applied to the mutated inborn flaws that are characteristic to the Metis breed of the fera.

Examples[]

Canon examples of the metis condition are listed below:

  • Anthropomorphic Battle Form: Your Crinos form isn't distinctly lupine. It's as huge and frightening as normal. It just doesn't look wolf-like.[3][4]
  • Barred Shape: You are unable to take at least one of the five forms.[5]
  • Big Head: Your head is twice its normal size.[6][7]
  • Blackened Eyes: Your eyes turn black in darkness or twilight, creating a menacing appearance and making vision difficult.[8](Screams-of-Nightmares)
  • Bestial reflection: You reflect your Crinos form on all reflective surfaces. Some Theurges might see this as favorable, indicating an honest character.[9] (Sings-for-the-Beast)
  • Crippled Nose: No sense of smell.[14]
  • Dogface: Lupine face in all forms.[15][16]
  • Feral Talons: Sharp claws that are always visible in all forms.[18][19]
  • Hyper senses: Your senses are extremely acute, to the point where you easily suffer disorientation and sensory overload. [1]
  • Nervous Transformation: You transform into Crinos under stressful situations.[33]
  • Serpent's Tongue[9]
  • Severe silver allergy, to the point of blistering when even near it[9]
  • Tender feet (feet too tender to walk on while barefoot) (Tenderfoot)[43]
  • Unnaturally Colored Hide[46]
