The Metaphysic Trinity is the conceptualization of the cycle of forces in the Tellurian in Mage: The Ascension. The Trinity consists of the creative and generative force of Dynamism, the preserving force of Stasis, and the destructive and purifying force of Entropy. The exact relationship between the metaphysical concepts of the Trinity and the Celestines known as the Triat is not quite clear: the Metaphysical Trinity may be forces generating from the Triat, or the Triat may be embodiments of the fundamental forces of the Trinity. (Naturally, Garou and other servants of Gaia and/or the Triat universally believe the Triat to be the source of these forces.)

Each of the three aspects of the Triat are associated with three of the nine Spheres. Entropy is associated with Prime, Time, and Entropy. Dynamism is associated with Forces, Time, and Correspondence. Stasis is associated with Life, Mind, and Matter.

Mages whose Avatars favor all three aspects of the Metaphysic Trinity equally (or who favor none at all) tend to have Questing Essences.

Although the elements of the Metaphysic Trinity were present from the beginning of Mage: The Ascension, it was not pushed to the forefront until Mage: The Ascension Revised Edition. There, the metaphysic forces were linked to the new trait of Resonance, which was itself linked to the concept of Quiet.
