Melodie Palys is a Silver Fang philodox who is a member of the Three Families and a member of the Broad Brook Sept prior to its destruction.
Biography[]
“ | How do you know who runs the world? If the Adversary won the war in heaven and took the throne of G-d and cast his vanquished foe into the Lake of Fire so that even now the Almighty burned with His angels, how would you know who sat on high and in glory? Would the world look any different? Would it look any less obscene, any more cruel and deranged? | ” |
As with all lineages of Kin, Melodie's First Change was extremely likely (relatively speaking), but nevertheless hard to expect, even with knowledge of the Garou being commonplace among the Palys family. Melodie's induction into the Silver Fangs, who were already closer to the Three Families than Broad Brook's Shadow Lords, upset the sept's balance of power and gave the Families more influence among the Garou.
After the Battle of Graves Farm, maddened by laying eyes on the Answering Tiger itself, Melodie fled to Ashfield, her parents' hometown. There, she became mystically ensnared by the Triple King, which fed off of the spiritual authority that her tribe conferred until eventually planning to sacrifice her. On the day of the final ritual that would end in her death, however, the remaining Broad Brook Garou intervened and extracted her from the ritual, bringing her back to Northampton, where she resumed her tribe's old duties of tending to the barrows just outside the old caern.
More than the other Broad Brook Garou, Melodie is dedicated to building a life away from humans and maintaining a continuous Garou culture. She is not anti-human; she just does not trust creatures of Rage in urban environments. She also aggressively upholds the Litany, especially the part about not letting humans learn about the Umbra. However, the disastrous failure of the Broad Brook Garou to act justly around humans—which led directly to the Battle of Graves Farm—has tempered her willingness to serve as judge or executioner.
