Martin Thorsson is Corax Kinfolk and engaged to marry Zurie Betancourt. She broke the engagement because she was concerned her fight against the Wyrm would lead him to harm.
Martin discovered an unusual specimen of naked mole rat, which brought him to the attention of Magadon, Incorporated. Chance, to protect Martin, hid him away in the South Pacific in an enchanted sleep. After this, Magadon stole the rat from Martin's apartment and burned it down; Martin was presumed dead in the fire.
After stealing the rat back and hiding it from Magadon, Chance reunited Martin and Zurie.
