  • Five priests of the Malleus Maleficarum purge the leadership of the Conspiracy in mainland Europe. The purge was sanctioned by Pope Gregory XVI and claimed nine high-ranking victims, among them the bishop of Badajoz, the Mother Superior of an influential covenant in Rome and a Cardinal. The only evidence of what might have happened is a box in the Shadow Congregation’s archives containing nine Bibles, bound in human skin, and nine notched knives.

  • CNN breaks a sex scandal involving US President Schroer. The scandal involves a six-year homosexual affair. Schroer admits to the affair in a televised address that night. His approval ratings plummet.

  • Captain Royce Paxton of the Banji Falcon-class hybrid transport Freya reports in his log that the cargo cannister has been brought on board, and the crew are opening it up. He is interrupted by sounds of a struggle, and reports of an Aberrant on board.
