Vampire: The Masquerade[]

The town of Madrid was originally a fortress established by the Muslim rulers of Cordoba to defend Toledo. It grew rapidly after Christian conquest, and the Lasombra quickly established a presence there, led by influential Christian Magister Silvester de Ruiz. Ruiz Embraced Madrid's bishop, Ambrosio Luis Monçada, who rapidly grew his influence over Madrid and his clan; he became the de facto prince of the city, though he never took an interest in such secular titles.[1] He maintained a haven beneath the Iglesia de San Nicolás de las Servitas, Madrid's oldest church.[2]

From the formation of the Sabbat, Madrid has been one of its strongholds; no one in the Camarilla was stupid enough to act against Monçada on his home turf.[3] Since at least 1997, Madrid was regarded as the European capital of the Sabbat.[4] Monçada died in 1999, consumed by the Leviathian he had summoned, and was briefly succeeded as Archbishop of Madrid by his childe, Lucita de Aragon.[2] Her successor is unknown.

Mage: The Ascension[]

A doctor who promised to help her instead drugged her, raped her, and left her for dead on the side of the road, where she Awakened. She returned to the medical school and burned it to the ground, ensuring that the rapist was the only person trapped inside. Neville Sinclair stepped into prevent her from being tried for arson — or burnt as a witch — and smuggled her away to Paris to recover.[5]

The Arcanum has established a Chapter House in the city. [6]
