The name says it all: The Mad are completely insane, even more so than The Banishers. They are the ones who are driven completely insane by the Awakening, but their madness doesn't manifest in such coherent thoughts as 'kill the evil wizards'. While not a blatant threat to the Fallen World and the Awakened like the Marauders, they are perhaps more feared for their utterly unpredictable and amoral use of magic.
