The Mérges Sorcery discipline is associated with the Iltani bloodline, a group of Sumerian Mekhet that were a major political force in 6th century Babylon.
"Mérges" means both "angry" and "poisonous"; it is the art of channeling anger away from rage, and into more practical applications, like creating poisons. Mérges Sorcery is a ritual discipline, meaning that it is learned like Crúac or Theban Sorcery, with more than one ritual per dot; it is not a bloodline discipline, so new levels must be purchased at 7x New Dots experience, like all out-of-clan disciplines, but new rituals retain the cost of 2x New Dots.
As it is not a bloodline discipline, it may be taught to Kindred who are not members of the Iltani, but doing so is highly irregular, and non-Iltani with knowledge of Mérges Sorcery have even been hunted down and killed to keep the knowledge in the bloodline.
This discipline is detailed in Ancient Bloodlines, as a section of the Iltani bloodline writeup.
