The Lux Veritatis was a decree that Charon made during the days of early Stygia and that was still enforced until the Sixth Great Maelstrom.

The Lux Veritatis dictated that all the great works of humanity are to be collected and preserved wherever it is found, and that they be held in vaults beneath the senate for all to enjoy so that all art and history may be preserved for all time.

It was considered to combat the influence of Oblivion by preserving what good the Quick had achieved. However, many Ferrymen saw the Lux Veritatis as something to tie the Restless even more to the Shadowlands, violating the original purpose of the Underworld as a transition state. This started tensions to rise between the Ferrymen and Charon.
