Jurgurtha Lion-Eater, Blood Talon Irraka member of the Lodge of the Red Sands
The Lodge of the Red Sands is a werewolf lodge found mostly in desert regions.
Overview[]
The members of the lodge are survivalists par excellence, skilled at enduring the harsh climates they call home. They originated in Upper Egypt thousands of years ago, but today can be found in many desert regions around the world. Members of the lodge tend to regard themselves as the elite among Uratha, and are both literally and metaphorically power-hungry. They dominate any packmates not of the lodge, they jealously guard hidden loci in the wilderness, and rumor has it that entire packs of the Lodge have become Zi'ir by devouring human flesh for Essence. Those who clash with the lodge come to regret it; they routinely celebrate victories by dismembering their fallen enemies and scattering the pieces, or dragging the bodies around the borders of their territory with a horse or vehicle.
The patron of the lodge is the Red Beast King, a chimerical-looking creature as ruthless as his children. To join, a werewolf must endure a severe beating and then survive alone in the desert for at least a week. If they endure these trials, the Red Beast King comes to them and guides them to their new lodge-mates.
