Zuza Oldrich, Bone Shadow Ithaeur member of the Lodge of Kletby
The Lodge of Kletby is a lodge concerned with the mechanics of curses.
Overview[]
Kletba is the Czech word for curse. This Lodge was born in Eastern Europe during the Black Death, which was suspected by some -- including no small number of Uratha -- to be a curse inflicted on the world by an angry god.[1] According to one theory, a curse is a supernatural effect that taints a creature's Essence on some fundamental level. Even humans, who have no reflection in the Shadow, nevertheless have some Essential link to it, and thus are vulnerable to curses. Uratha, of course, labor under the dying curse of Father Wolf, but perhaps there is some way to lift it after all...[2]
The totem of the lodge is Jinx, a spirit that manifests as a variety of unlucky animals such as black cats, bats, snakes, or magpies. While the lodge is small and reclusive, joining is simply a matter of asking. An established member then invokes Jinx, who puts a curse on the would-be initiate; if they decide they'd rather not join the lodge, the curse lifts, but if they can endure it for a full month, they become members of the lodge (and the curse becomes permanent).[3]

Rites[]
Invoke Kletba (••): This rite allows the user to impose another rite, Gift, or fetish effect on another individual as a curse. The target of the rite can be the individual or something with a sympathetic connection to them (such as a tuft of hair or fur). The curse may last much longer than the source power would, and the ritemaster can make it subject to certain conditions -- specifying what triggers the curse's effect, or what lifts it.[4]
