Nick Andreas, Elodoth member of the Lodge of Arkadia
The Lodge of Arkadia is a heretical lodge that subscribes to an alternate origin story for the Uratha.
Overview[]
The Lodge teaches that the Uratha did not descend from Father Wolf and Mother Luna. Rather, they originated in a long-lost kingdom called Arkadia, where wolves and humans lived side-by-side in harmony under the guidance of a god called the Son of the She-Wolf. Eventually their king, Lykaon, became obsessed with overthrowing the Son of the She-Wolf and becoming a god himself; by consuming the flesh of his own sons, he gained the ability to shape-shift at will. The Son of the She-Wolf eventually struck down Lykaon and his co-conspirators, cursing them to fall into Death Rage by the light of the moon and to pass this curse on to their children. The moon goddess, however, had mercy on the descendants of these kinslayers and cannibals, resulting in the Oath of the Moon.[1]
The totem of the lodge is Ursar, last of the Wolf-Kings, who claims to have ruled a wolf pack in Arkadia.[2]
Membership[]
The lodge recruits the same sort of membership as the Hunters in Darkness, namely those interested in exploring their wolf side of their nature.[2] Members must accept the Arkadian origin story for the Uratha, and must prove themselves to be both wolf and human by passing various tests.[3]
