Fiend Among Fiends




812 CE









Koban was one of the Tzimisce lords of the Long Night.


Koban was one of the few survivors of a charge against his village by his future sire, Noriz. The Fiend forced the members of the village to fight against each other for his amusement and Koban, son of the village's augur, was the last to stand, defiant against the fate the unliving monster had planned for them.

Amused, Noriz Embraced the young man and left him. Despite this, Koban quickly advanced in the ranks of the voivodate, using the knowledge of his parents to further his Koldunic Sorcery. When the Tzimisce of Constantinople tried to gain a foothold in Transylvania, he opposed them, eventually slaying their leader Zubor.

When the Anarch Revolt came, Koban stood with Myca Vykos against his sire until Noriz was destroyed. Ironically, Koban later perished at the hands of one of his own childer.


A nightmare given form, Koban would be seven feet tall were he to stand at full height, but he tends to hunch forward with hands clasped, his posture reminiscent of a praying mantis. Whisper thin stalks of flesh sprout from atop his smooth head, undulating like submerged reeds. He has five orifices that appear to double as both mouths and eyes: two on each cheek, once centred on his forehead, and on the palm of each hand. Each contains an array of fangs and a tongue-like mass of overlapping. Hollowed muscle that unfolds like a tulip to reveal an eyeball on each stalk. A breastplate that appears to be a fused spine and ribcage protects his torso. Although he appears clothed, at second glance it is nothing more than a manipulation of his flesh.
