  • The imperial army of Japan clashes with shogitai, the samurai loyal to the absent shogun. The army is equipped with firearms while the samurai fight with swords. The day is a massacre. Three samurai decide on a different path, and take up the way of the ninja, later founding the Go Kamisori Gama.

  • In Boston, USA, the first Riddle Contest is held at The Fool's Gambit.

  • Xadreque Machado warns Cornelius Balt about an impending nuclear attack on Zapathasura and recommends Balt leave the premises within two hours.
